Obscenity?

'You uploaded a photo that violates our Terms of Use and this photo has been removed. Facebook does not allow photos that attack an individual or group, or that contain nudity, drug use, violence or other violations of the Terms of Use. These policies are designed to ensure Facebook remains a safe, secure and trusted environment for all users, including the many children who use the site.'
So guess who had a picture removed from Facebook? Yup my heaving bosom was deemed to fall within the "obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit" catagory . Beware nipples may be present on next page...
I knew you wouldn't be able to resist that hook...
When I logged on this morning I was greeted with a cheery message that laid down the law about my indiscretion, slapped me on the hand and demanded that I tick a box to show that I understood that what I had done was very naughty. And then at the top of my news feed was another message that again required me to tick a box that showed that I was truly repentant and that I understood that if I did it again I would be put on the Facebook's naughty step along with Kelli Roman  and plenty of other Mummmas.  Here is the offending photograph...Gratuitous Booby shot.
OK. So it's not the most subtle breastfeeding photo, it is fairly 'in your face' (sorry couldn't help myself). I think it must have been when the whole 'Hey Facebook, Breastfeedings not obscene!' debacle was going down. This is what the Times said about the whole issue on the 31st Dec 2008...

I seem to remember that I chose this picture because it so blatently shows the nipple, which is the bit that Facebook bods find so... um... obscene. I think it's a funny picture, Spuddy is scaling this huge detatched mountain of mammary. I think it's important to state that this picture was set with the highest privacy setting, to be viewed only by my 'Friends' not to the general public. Now anyone who is friends with me will have most likely seen my breasts, either in the days of Rock'n'Roll or Rhymetime. Aint nobody in my friends gonna be shocked by them anymore....

Facebook head honcho type Barry Schnitt says this... "Photos containing a fully exposed breast (as defined by showing the nipple or areola) do violate those terms (on obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit material) and may be removed,"
Im not sure what blogger's position is on this whole issue, guess I'll find out soon enough!
