The Dirt on my Children.

I decided last week that I would not paparazzi my children in order to make my blog posts more juicy. There are a few reasons for this. I did do it a couple of times, justifying to myself that I was 'documenting their development'. Or something.

The main reason, of course, is that I dont want them to feel as if they are being 'watched'. Spud recently did a stint in a nursery and as I was settling him in I was gobsmacked at how the staff hovered over the kids, urging them to 'smile, move to the side a little, lift your brush... 'etc. We didn't stay there.

The second reason is that Spud likes to wear pyjamas all day, usually has very dirty hands, food on his face or bares his teeth at me, like a child raised by dogs, whenever I get the camera out. I don't want Social Services to have any free fodder. Im sure they'll have enough ammo without help from me.
